Monstep Tuesday, February 12 Right from the start, it is obvious that we’re entering a galaxy not so far, far away from new york, or one of the city’s satellites. The atmosphere is misty, the air is heavy, and the themes are thick. We’re clearly gliding through a universe discovered by John Zorn, Happy Apple, Bad plus and co. We’re hovering very close to Jazz music, but closer still to the amazingly rich and sensuous sounds of the jewish musical culture. The mysterious aspects of the tunes clings to us and the slightly heavy atmosphere is a confirmation to the affiliation to the Big Apple.
