Ben Miller/dgeneration in a one-time performance to a new film by Matt Kohn. Music featuring Motoko Shimizu with live performance by Valmonte Sprout. Scenes from the While Nile, the Hudson and DC inspire a voyage to Mars.

Filmmaker Matt Kohn crafts an ethereal voyage to Mars from quirky and beautiful footage he's shot in Sudan, Uganda, Washington DC and on the Hudson. Based on the idea that "water creates borders," the film explores war and commitment through contrasting stillness and movement. Miller's degeneration incorporates a modified stereo guitar, electronics and tape as an approach to non-tonal soundscaping. This will accompany the natural sounds in Kohn's films. He will also perform music from degeneration's album "Sirens of Phobos" with Valmonte Sprout recreating her role as the astronaut trapped by the Siren, performed by SPIN-17's Motoko Shimzu, in the animated film Kohn created for the signature song -- "Sirens of Phobos." Shimizu uses her voice and array of toys to add her eccentric, ethereal mix.
