$5, $10 minimum
Showtime:

NY multi-media artist Linton and and Dutch performing artist Copraij present condensed excerpts culled from their large scale collaborative Live Cinema project "Passage du Désir in the Tunnel of Love" which premiered recently in Amsterdam.

For this special MonkeyTown evening designed to introduce NY friends to our project
these excerpts will be remixed along with new live camera "Bicameral" systematic elements (so expect requisite amounts of the usual Noise, Drone & Flicker) and an ultra concentrated camera based meditation by Copraij.

Margaretha Zelle MacLeod was born in the north of Holland toward the end of the 19th century. After the collapse of family life and all other prospects by 1905 she had relocated to Paris to reinvent herself as the theater artist "Mata Hari" (literally "Eye of Dawn" in Malay) thereby becoming perhaps the first "eastern" or "exotic" dancer known to early 20th century Europe... before being executed by the French as a spy just a few years later during the dark days of World War One. In the course of putting together "Passage du Désir in the Tunnel of Love" Linton and Copraij have borrowed images from her life.

She looked nothing like Greta Garbo...
