Using cut-out bin vinyl samples and urban nature video, Paul Amitai & Lady Firefly take the familiar and transform it into something unexpected and sublime. With the typical tools of live VJ/DJ performance (laptop, turntables, CDJs, effects), the duo finds a way to spin unconventional experimental narratives out of inspired collective improvisation. Lady Firefly's lush, painterly visuals work in perfect harmony with the dub-inspired soundscapes of Paul Amitai, as their live set often shifts through a variety of moods - from sparse, sun-dappled textures to thick sheets of distortion and deep, watery rhythmic pulses.

These days, Brooklyn's own VJ Lady Firefly (aka Zarah Cabañas) has been busy creating space and mood altering visuals inspired by the wintry forests, newspaper cutouts, and the here and now of her travels. Working once again with Paul Amitai's musical spells, this duo is everything you might expect in an extended lucid dream.
