Alaska in Winter is a project led by front man Brandon Bethancourt who got his BFA in electronic arts in New Mexico. Along the way, Bethancourt recorded the beginnings of an album in a cabin in Alaska. His debut album, 'Dance Party in the Balkans' featured the likes of Zach Condon (Beirut) Heather Trost (A Hawk and a Hacksaw) as well as other New Mexican musicians.

After his first tour opening for the Beirut in North America, Bethancourt ventured off to complete 2 headlining tours in Europe, a 6 month recording session in Berlin, and has recently released his 2nd album, 'Holiday' and will be performing a limited number of shows in the US before heading back to Europe.

Alaska in Winter tours as a multi-media virtual band. Bethancourt has video taped himself playing all the parts the "band" would normally be playing and syncs it with the music the audience hears using Max/MSP & Jitter. The result is a bunch of Brandon clones projected on the screen behind the real Brandon who interacts with the band, along with costume changes and lot's of technical programming.

The Spookfish has been making noisy electronic dream pop in Brooklyn for the past year and performing it sporadically with video accompanyment.
