The Future, an international traveling short film & video screening series, presents Bent Mirror, an eclectic mix of films that teeter from the poetic to the boisterous. Bent Mirror will feature works by filmmakers from the other side of the globe, such as Mikhail Kobakhidze (Georgia), Raida Adon (Palestine), Shoval Zohar (Israel), Nir Nadler (The Netherlands), Magnus Aronson (Sweden), and Krisma Music (Italy). Featured filmmakers from the U.S. will be Brooklyn's native Waverly Films, as well as Matthew Silver, Chris Sullivan, and selections presented by San Francisco's Wholphin DVD Magazine.

Bent Mirror is an extension of The Future's debut screening Recession Cookie which took place at Le Poisson Rouge this past February. This program features other works by many of the same artists and filmmakers, as well as incorporating new additions. Bent Mirror is Recession Cookie's slanted twin; glimmering and gleaming in a whole new way.

The Future is here to create a broad-based, public audience for the best unseen international film & video artists. By using ever-more-dynamic media websites as portals for creative exchange, invited artists contribute to an international collaboration of inspiration, criticism, and exposition. The Future pools, curates, and diffuses different, unusual, and from-the-heart works for screenings in different areas of the world. The goal is to reach and gather feedback from a broader, entertainment-seeking audience.
