We're Back! Another Fancy Clip Party!
clip: v ('klip) to cut or cut off with or
as if with shears
party: n ('pär-tE) a social gathering
Clip Party: n ('klip 'pär-tAY) a social
gathering involving the consumption of alcoholic beverages while
watching rare music videos, wacky movie trailers, short films
and other pop culture tidbits (okay, non-drunks welcome too).
Return of the FANCY! Clip Party
Come witness the triumphant return of the FANCY CLIP PARTY!
Monkeytown will be hosting the next great audio-visual mind melt;
the first of Two Thousand and Great! Not only will there be more
new video mayhem then one can shake a wooden leg at, but there
will be two, count 'em, two live bands. NYC's very own Edison
Rocket Train (ex - Sharky's Machine, Raunch Hands, Crypt Records,
etc.) will chug through a set of down home ditties for the downtown
crowd. And, all the way from Japan, making their first appearance
in the Western hemisphere, the beats from the East, those
Okayama bad boys: Los Wakamanos.
A SOIREE FOR SORE EYES
FREE! Woohoo!
Are you a TV junkie tired of the junk on TV? Then the FANCY
Clip Party is for you! Come see another mind melting mixture
of rare music video, obscure movie trailers, lost & now found
footage and snippets from
the most banal corners of the collective unconscious. Every clip party is unique
as we strive to show new footage each time, and that's not easy when you're
talking about 4 to 5 hours of marathon viewing.
The clip party is indeed a soiree for sore eyes but if the prospect
of seeing something you've never seen before is not enough to
get you to put a pair of jeans on and schlep your sorry ass to
Monkey Town, there
will also be two bands: the semi-related to Crypt Records rockers-from-the-wrong-side-of-the-tracks,
Edison Rocket Train, and the band of the rising fuzz, Japan's emperors of eleki,
Los Wakamanos.
Monkey Town provides an intimate environment to feast your eyes
and your belly. Eat, drink & viddy well little brothers and
sisters. Monkey Town has an excellent menu, bar and wait staff
allowing one to simply lounge and stare in awe at the audio-visual
carnival. With 4 giant screens to soak it all in, there isn't
a bad seat in the house. Take a gander at just some of the stuff
