An exquisite evening of Hindi & Urdu poetry recitation by accomplished poets and poetry enthusiasts. Recitations will comprise of original works and those by stalwarts like Ghalib and Bacchan. Transcription of select pieces will be available in phonetic and translated English. The setting, content and flow of the event aims to break the traditional mould of poetry recitations and appeal to audience spanning a spectrum of interest in poetry, especially those who have not pursued it actively, as yet.

Indian cinema was vastly instrumental in propagating this art to diverse strata of the society. The event will open with the screening of a song compilation showcasing poetic brilliance in words and visuals, over seven decades from Black and White to the current era.

Audience members are welcome to recite/ read during the open mic. Bring your favoritepoem along!
