The Populists are the latest endeavor of Jason Reischel, the prolific Brooklyn-based singer-songwriter. Following two national tours and two albums as a solo artist, Reischel has re-imagined his sound, bringing together a taut ensemble of some of New York’s finest young musicians. Over the past year, the Populists have brought their self-described brand of “irony-free parlor music” to packed venues all over New York City. They are returning to Monkeytown after two previously sold-out performances to play songs ranging from Reischel's solo days, to their recently recorded and released debut album "Unfinished Melodies," to brand new unreleased tracks.
