Me, My Father and the Hurricane is a bio and autobiographical documentary about legendary musician, 'Washboard' Leo Thomas (inventor of the electric washboard). The New York Times has called Leo the Jimi Hendrix of the Washboard. Made by his daughter, Bayou Bennett, the film tells the touching story of how her re-uniting with her father after many years of being apart helps him to heal from the loss of his best friend, his painful divorce as well the devastation of his native homeland of Mandeville, Louisiana due to Hurricane Katrina.
