The CSC Funk Band will be performing their first show at Monkeytown. This presentation will feature live experimental visuals from artists Maya Erdelyi and Kevin Medal. The band, which features members / ex-members of diverse bands such as Gwar, Talibam!, and USAisaMonster, has a core base and long list of revolving collaborators. The ensemble fluctuates between 7 and 15 members. The music itself is a hybrid of influences: Steve Reich, 70's West African Psychedelic Funk, Afro-beat, Sun Ra Arkestra, Krautrock and the raw energy of James Brown and his contemporaries. The visual elements will manifest as varioius sorts of projections, created live and influenced by the music.
