Hailing from Omaha, Neb., Thunder Power make a stop at Monkey Town as part of their summer tour in support of their debut EP, “Love Yourself,” recently released on Slumber Party Records. Featuring the old soul vocals of Kacynna Tompsett, this lushly-orchestrated sextet makes a dreary day a little less dreary as their music swells from sweet to somber to biting to just plain raucous, lofting somewhere in the realms of murky, folk-laden ballads and chamber pop soirees.

Joining TP for the evening are Patrick Bower, whose delicate songwriting and honey-frosted voice has been described as “stylishly moody indie folk” by Time Out New York.

NYC/Cambridge, MA based experimental noise pop trio. Members of Hooray For Earth, Wild Light, and Paul & The Patients with visuals by Johnny Woods. Usually very loud, DPony looks forward to a chance to breathe easy in Monkey Town's intimate setting :)
