Sure, Hell Yup! uses turntables sometimes, but an arsenal of homemade software, a drum sequencer necklace, MySpace and QuickTime Player usually gets the job done just fine. Incorporating visuals produced by a similar range of means--specially-written software, microchips, YouTube and video clips--Hell Yup! generally shoots for the overwhelming. Giant monster rabbits from Night of The Lepus may be slaughtered while a digital fire appears to burn a hole through the screen, someone is playing VPDEO GAME in the background and a Wu Tang a capella is laid over French electro. But, for a breath of fresh air, there could be a good 5 minutes of nothing but Yoko Ono coughing (in fact, management once politely requested less coughing and more music). Lacanian disc jockeying at its finest, Hell Yup! is guaranteed not only to make you mad but to make you dance.
