Jenn Gooch + Nina Katchadourian

Nina Katchadourian is a visual artist by profession, but has played music her whole life too. The two activities are usually kept very far apart, but this evening will be an attempt to look for overlap and cross-pollination. Katchadourian's visual art practice involves a wide range of media including sculpture, sound, video and photography. She is represented by Sara Meltzer Gallery in New York and Catharine Clark Gallery in San Francisco and has exhibited extensively domestically and abroad. In 2008 she released a solo CD entitled "The Marfa Jingles" about the small town of Marfa, Texas. She plays in the Brooklyn-based band The Wingdale Community Singers whose new CD, "Spirit Duplicator," will be released on Scarlet Shame Records in October 2009.

Jennifer Gooch is a multi-media artist and Jenn Gooch is a musician. While they work side-by-side and are often interested in similar themes, the results are quite different. Jennifer Gooch will be screening several videos and a performance piece and Jenn Gooch will perform a music set. Jenn(ifer) resides in Denton, TX.
