Bleed My Darling Darkness is part video ritual, part musical séance. Where moving images and live sound bleed together in the eyes and ears of the silent spectator, gazing or glaring, in the darkness of the theatre. 

SEEKING THE SPIRIT video by Olivia Wyatt  (duration: 10 min)

Olivia Wyatt’s documentary video work is centered around African-based religious rituals practiced in the United States. She has spent the past four years documenting Vodou rituals in Brooklyn, NY and was drawn to film Seeking the Spirit due to the similarities she found within the Celestial Church of Christ and Vodou, in particular the elements of possession.

Seeking the Spirit will be screened with live musical accompaniment by Shannon Funchess and Bruno Coviello, Williamsburg Brooklyn's answer to the reemergence of new romantics. LIGHT ASYLUM is a musical echoing from the past reverberating against mans foreshadowing, apocalyptic plight. Beats synths and vocals come in waves leading listeners ashore in the darkest of nights.

Saturn Return is a 29-minute video work modeled after dream and nightmare; a series of sigils and hieroglyphs, where idea and gratification weigh upon each episode. The whole is disregarded for the sake of the part; development is tossed away for the sake of the scene; maturation is exiled for the sake of the shot. There is no conclusive interpretation; rather every image contains a manifold meaning. There is no build up for a payoff; one does not have to sit through a series of long and boring set ups for one short grand finale, but each scene has the power of a climax; a continuous euphoria made up of epiphany and shock, of vicious instants; a gravid cinema, a visualization of ideas, where every moment gives birth.   

Winnowill is a mercurial collaborative ensemble headed by Kai Wong and created by Jason Tallon specifically to accompany Tallon’s video Saturn Return. Kaia is also a member of the time-traveling hipster-alien trio Mixel Pixel.
