Question:
Where I come from, people often greet one another, “How Far?” instead of “Hello.” This greeting implies that one is always traveling, always struggling towards a greater actualization of her experience. It is also believed that the nature of experience can be synesthetic and extrasensory. It is possible to taste sights, hear feelings, and see sounds. By some accounts, 1 in 200 persons is synesthetic. How far can this condition go towards dancing the dancer?

Hypothesis:
Ankoku-butoh, the black stamping dance, enables a reunion with the Primitive-Afrikan-self through a dance of internal transformation. Even farther then, should the evolution of body-language advance the dancer through experiences of synesthesia.

Experiment:
Eveleena Dann
Laura Russello

Butoh dancers interact with sound and video installations in which ordered sequences provoke the emergence of different personalities.

Eseohe Arhebamen
