Adam Faucett and The Tall Grass are on the road again with their soulful, rootsy swamp opera. Existing somewhere between Townes Van Zandt and Sam Cooke, Faucett's voice is a true testament to its honing in Arkansas' Ozark Mountains, and guarantees this tuesday evening event to be a hollering, spooky affair. "There is aged wisdom in the sound of this music, and the dark, primitive mountain melancholy is lightly punctuated with moments of lush melody," said Davis Clement in a review of Faucett's latest record, Show Me Magic, Show Me Out, for The Arkansas Times.

Faucett has been touring under his name since September 2007 with the release of his solo debut, The Great Basking Shark, a collection of songs written primarily during Faucett's time spent living in Chicago. The Tall Grass (Chad Conder, drums and Johnny D., bass) made appearances on this recording, but the album is defined more by its sparse instrumentation, and of course, Faucett's powerful voice and lyrics. Though Faucett remains the band's writer, the release of Show Me Magic, Show Me Out in late October 2008 by Blue Tint Records sees Conder and Johnny D. becoming a more integral part in putting some skin on the skeletons of these songs. The band's next album is being written and plans for recording are scheduled for late December.

The evening will also serve as the comeback show for The Daisy Chains from Bay Shore, NY. Not only will this be the band's first show in nearly half a decade, it also stands as a celebration of the release of their long awaited full length, Five Years Later. Drawing influences from the sounds of the early to mid nighteen nineties, The Daisy Chains have forged an original sound that marries the heavy, guitar rock of the grunge era with a sound akin to the more poppy side of Pavement.

Toward the end of the show, Faucett apologized to the crowd for screaming at us the whole time ... I for one did not mind ... In fact, I could have listened all night.

Faucett again showcases what an unparallel fingerpicker he is in the folk music realm...
