AoQ (Ambiguously
Organic Quartet) is an improvisational ensemble combining melodic
folk themes with ambient electronic textures. The evolving group
of sonic space travelers includes accordian (Jeffrey Eldredge),
electric guitar (Marc Jacoby), fretless six string
bass (Richard Lindsey) and electric and acoustic
percussion(Steve Meltzer). AoQ's influences run deep, from Mingus,
to Charlie Hunter, Bill Frissell, NRBQ, Pete Seeger and Joanna
Newsome, to name a few favorites.
About the picture and the filmmaker: HASTINGS-ON-HUDSON
& 23 ST/CHELSEA HOTEL (2006) is a 45 min. video
installation (a collage of 9 moving images) shot in Westchester
and in Manhattan.
