8 1/2 Hours Long
return to calendar

Wednesday, July 5

What if...

...you slowed down Fellini's 8 1/2 to one quarter of its natural speed and then you played some swelling, Eno-esque music behind it and invited your friends, and your living room had four gigantic screens with couches and pillows.

Yes. We have shown this many times between screenings and after hours. But we have never devoted an entire evening to its glacial movement. THIS is a trial run for a similar screening that will happen this fall that will involve multiple live performances throughout the 8 and 1/2 hour period.

To anyone who sits through the entire 8 1/2 hours, we will reward you with a bottle of Moulin de Gassac. To everyone else, you will be rewarded with eternal life.

And yes. When you slow down the movie 8 1/2 to 1/4 its natural speed it is almost precisely 8 and 1/2 hours long. That's deeper than the Da Vinci Code, that.
