The story of the artist Ray Johnson, as told by his friends and contemporaries, including Christo and Jeanne-Claude, Chuck Close, Richard Feigen, Morton Janklow, Judith Malina, Roy Lichtenstein, and James Rosenquist. A performance artist and conceptualist creating works way before his or their time; unknown by most until after his death from an apparent suicide in 1995.

The Mystery of Picasso (1956)
Renown French director, Henri-Georges Clouzot films his friend painting onto glass accompanied by a cool jazz soundtrack.
Brush strokes pile on top of each other until the glass canvas is finished. When the film is completed, all the paintings are destroyed.

Before the Gates, the Umbrellas, and the Pont Nuef, Jean-Claude and Christo unveiled a billowing white nylon fence through California ranch country. And the Maysles brothers document everything from the town meetings to the installation.
