Be there LIVE to see artists wrestle with their athletic inadequacy,
battle their alienation, and GO FOR THE GOLD, facing off against
seasoned veterans from the spectrum of professional sports.
On the surface, the relationship between art and sport is
blue state to red state -- mutually disinterested, suspicious,
outright distainful.
But scratch a little deeper and there are infinite similarities.
Both are self-amusing pastimes and social scenes for the participants.
Both are entertaining diversions for their audiences. Both are
fueled by heaping portions of passion, exhibitionism and ego.
Both present the participants for critique, from adulation to
mockery and ridicule.
As sports is the television product par excellence, what medium
better than video to tackle this sticky separated-at-birth relationship?
