Histrionics + New York 69
return to calendar

Wednesday, May 3

Aurally sketching complex, tendril-line motivic intertwinings, the
trio drives toward caustic drone-oriented encounters with each
instruments' registral extremes. The Histrionics destine their
constituent instruments (synthesizer, viola, trumpet/piccolo trumpet)
for subjective collapse into a morass of timbral perversion, rendering
their individual sonic identities indistinguishable, if not
irrelevant. Oscillating between sonorous enfoldings and barings,
maskings and revealings, The Histrionics' improvised engagments arch
towards a plane of ecstatic musical dynamism.

New York 69 are two nice guys (Kevin Shea - drums & Adam Caine - guitar) who play the most intense, beautiful guitar & drums free-improvised music that they possibly can. You'd think they're named after a sexual act but they're actually named after a mileage sign on RT 17E. They had an idea to do a softcore porn movie set to their music, but this has not yet come to fruition. If you want to be on the cast or crew let us know.
