Ike
Yard, between 1980 and 1983, hidden between the pulsing
burn of halide streetlamps and shadowed voids of lower Manhattan,
produced a sound that continues to resonate… jittery and
parched, with throbbing subsonics; blasted, yet iced over a thousand
times; an electrical charge whiplashing against the night. Here...gone.
Now in 2007, original band members Stuart Argabright, Kenneth
Compton, and Michael Diekmann, as Ike Yard, are performing in
New York for the first time in 25 years. Using images smeared
and sliced, voices muttered or charged, electronics, shifting
beats, and vibrating metal strings, Ike Yard communicates in broken
parables, fragmented fictions, and inverted truths.

slowly shifting
repetitions, heavy monotone lowend and smoky echoes conjure unexpected
subsonic grooves. Look out for their 7" this summer on The
Social
Registry (http://thesocialregistry.com).
