Keplermusic.com presents...
When I first saw Monkey Town and thought of promoting shows
there, it was Jaymay I thought of as the perfect performer to
host there. I have been looking forward to this show since February.
Jaymay is a performer about which I find myself constantly saying, "I've
never been more blown away by an artist I'd never seen before
than Jaymay." Her success is absolutely inevitable.
Jaymay moved to London having signed a record deal with Heavenly
Records home to not only the Doves but Beth Orton, Ed Harcourt,
the Magic Numbers and Saint Etienne. It is my great pleasure
to announce that Jaymay has agreed to play Monkey Town on Monday
September 24 (doors open at 7:30 PM sharp, a 50 capacity venue)
with Michael Leviton (info below) while she is in town to open
for Jose Gonzalez at Blender's Gramercy Theater on September
28th (a 600 capacity venue).

Michael Leviton plays baritone ukulele and sings clever, cynical
songs with a bittersweet honesty and romance beneath. Although
he is most inspired by the classic croon of Chet Baker and the
witty yet heartbroken lyrics of Lorenz Hart, Jules Styne, and
Ira Gershwin, Michael is more often compared to Jonathan Richman,
Morrissey, and The Magnetic Fields. He's toured nationally as
main support for They Might Be Giants and opened for friends
Regina Spektor, Nellie McKay, and Au Revoir Simone.
Michael's debut album "My Favorite Place to Drown" was
released on Acefu Records in 2006.
