Brooklyn filmmakers Greg King and Lili Chin join to present two recent projects, 'Untitled Space Series' (Chin) and 'Rotating Mirror' (King). Both works are comprised of several short film 'chapters' intended to be viewed as a set, or film cycle, where a collective 'narrative of sensation' emerges from their inter-relationship and formal structure.

Chin's Untitled Space Series is a collection of films constructed as a meditation on the 21st century. Each film functions as both a chapter and a song, intertwined with shades of nostalgia, lamentation, celebration, transformation and reflection, on the blind technological development of modern society. A strange yet familiar journey from space to deserted landscapes creates a lyrical passage from the undiscovered to the rediscovered.

Total Running Time: 20:00

King's Rotating Mirror is a combination of contemplative journaling, structural formalism, chance discovery, and private vocabulary, resulting in a uniquely cinematic examination of life throughout a single calendar year. King created the raw footage for the work by filming Super 8 movie film every day for one year, initially as a means of commemorating his reaching the age of 33, a number of significance throughout his life. An element of chance influenced the project, in that no plans were made beforehand of what would be filmed each day. The process became a personal experiment of how one might think 'filmically' within the ordinary pace of life.

Each chapter is edited to music and sound pieces by members of the group Rachel's, with whom King has long collaborated. The soundtrack possesses an evocative quality uniquely suited to the contemporary nostalgia and timelessness of the film format used. The project has received generous support from Angels' Net Foundation, The Flicker Film Festival, and the Jerome Foundation in the form of a Media Arts Program Grant.

Total Running Time: 1 hour
