Falling on the third day of the jam-packed Movement Research
Festival Spring 2007: Reverence (Irreverence), Rewind/Unwind
is an invitation to kick back, relax, and take a look at rare
footage from the NYC experimental dance/performance scene.
Rewind/Unwind
Set up like a radio program, VJs will play hour-long sets of footage
starting with the 80s at 4pm and moving through today with selections
made from the Movement Research archives and personal collections.
In a form that is intrinsically non-conducive to any kind of linear
historical documentation, Rewind/Unwind offers a unique opportunity
to forge you own personal relationships with this selection of
its past and present. Spontaneous performances of any kind in
relation, reaction, or retaliation to what you see on screen are
welcomed as is simply relaxing, observing, and coming and going
as you please.
The Holy Ghost
A night of video screenings curated by Jillian Peña. These
works re-imagine the body beyond what is represented or seen.
Artists include: Liz Rosenfeld, Ishmael Houston-Jones, Josh Mannis,
Faye Driscoll, and others.
