On May 20th we will be celebrating the release of new recordings
by Little Ricky's House of Chankletas, The Painful Leg Injuries
and Marco Oppedisano from the OKS
Recordings of North America label. These three artists
explore the depths of electro-acoustic, noise, improv, and electronic
music producing some of the most varied and interesting avant
music made today.
Little
Ricky's House of Chankletas is the ridiculously unpredictable
trio of Barry Seroff, Joe Mapplebeck and Stefan Paolini. Free
Jazz meets John Cage by way of Zappa, Little Ricky's House of
Chankletas is the ultimate musical experiment that delivers enlightenment
through comedy.
The
Painful Leg Injuries are the laptop and cello duo of
Bill Byrne and his wife, Suzanne, who build a dense noisy orchestra
of sci-fi inspired drones. Weaving structures through improvised
sections with brute force and surprisingly pretty touches of ambiance
the Painful Leg Injuries are a very dynamic experience.
Marco Oppedisano is a classically
composer and avant-guitarist who combines gorgeous classical compositions
with electro-acoustic techniques. Marco's prowess and creativity
has been known to stun audiences.
"...mindbending music for guitar and electronics… hear
Oppedisano's intricate roar." - Time Out New York
" (The Painful Leg Injuries) threaten to rip apart the fibers
that make up North American culture..." - Foxy Digitalis
