Oscillate: Where the ambience, atmospheres and down-tempo beats provided by Miles Maeda, Mad EP and Aerostatic co-exist in a collaborative context with the visual immersions of CHiKA, VisualHornHonkinG and Peter Kirn.

Oscillate Artist Bios in Order of Performance:
Miles Maeda

Miles Maeda, known primarily for his work as DJ and producer of house
music, takes a pleasant detour from this work to exhibit some ambient-
downtempo creations from his upcoming album. Imagine a Ghibli film
scored by Bach, edited by The Black Dog and served up peppered with

CHiKA

CHiKA is a live computer visuals artist working within New York’s expanded cinema community and VJ scene. Her videos implement geometric minimalist patterns mesmerizes with a hypnotic blend of geometric patterns and organic drawings in repetitive combinations. http://www.chiklet.com


Matthew Peters

Iowa native Matthew Peters, a.k.a. Mad EP, originally was a cellist and
later a producer of the Chicago Symphony radio broadcasts. He has been
creating his unique soundscapes with live instrumentations, found sounds,
and field recordings for the past 7 years in various studio and performance environments as a founding member of the Manhattan Gimp Project, one half of the hip-hop duo Mad/EQ, resident sound designer for the Psychasthenia Society, and a number of other collaborative and solo projects. His music has been featured on US college and underground stations as well as international radio and web broadcasts. Refusing to be bound to any given genre or style, Mad EP's music traverses the entire spectrum and fuses ambient, hip-hop, hardcore, breakbeat, classical, jazz, and noise into his own brand of funk. His diverse range of live sets have made him a regular performer in many of New York City's clubs and art spaces and his recent releases have garnered resounding critical acclaim worldwide. http://www.myspace.com/madep

Sergey Emel

Originally from Western Russia, Serge, aka SIMA, Is part  of NYC based visual installation crew VisualHornHonkinG. SIMA‚s jigsaw puzzle reselected visual images mirror a symbiotic relationship to music, sound or silence and can be seen in venues all around the city.

Aerostatic

Aerostatic is Terry Golob and Michele Darling. Based in Brooklyn, NY,
Aerostatic utilize artifacts of sound generated by digital and analog processing in conjunction with a variety of interactive technologies to compose and design audio environments for music performance, film, and installations. Peter Kirn

Peter Kirn is a composer, media artist, and VJ. His work has been presented in the US, Korea, Canada, and Europe, and he recently completed a residency in the Digital Fellows program of Dance Theater Workshop. He is the editor of the webzines createdigitalmusic.com and createdigitalmotion.com, a frequent contributor to magazines like Macworld, Make, and Keyboard, and the author of Real World Digital Audio from Peachpit Press. http://peterkirn.com
