When you slow America's Funniest Pet Videos down to 1/3 their
speed and apply a dreamy, psycho-psychedelic soundtrack, you don't
see just the antics of our animals, you see the living rooms,
back yards, garages and parks of America. And the unmediated world
that you imagine still exists out there does not exist at all.
Everyone is truly, fully mediated, thank you very much; and these
are the days of our lives and the pets that define them.
The soundtrack features works by The
Company (Country Teasers), Stars
Like Fleas, The
Dead Texan, and La Lus.
This program was broadcast at our original space in the fall
of 2003. It also included a live massage in the center of
our space, administered by David
Greenhouse. At this screening, there will be no massage.
You will only need to focus on the adorable creatures and the
luminous sound.
