DIRTY PROJECTORS are going on tour this spring
in coincidence with the arrival of a new EP, entitled NEW
ATTITUDE EP, in the swaddles of a
stork called MARRIAGE
RECORDS of PORTLAND OREGON on March 24th, 2006.
JOINING the band with his own set will be JAMES SUMNER,
the animator /
digital video auteur who wears no tinfoil helmet. MR SUMNER will
be
screening his animated film THE GETTY ADDRESS, which brings last
year's DIRTY PROJECTORS album of the same name into the 5th dimension
with a mix of hand-drawn, computer, and cut-out techniques. To

The BAND, led by Dave Longstreth, will be six
pieces: two guitarists,
a drummer, another drummer/percussionist/synthesized subwoofer,
yet
another percussionist, and a proper bass player. There will be
an
emphasis on three- and four-part male vocal harmony. The band
will be
playing material from NEW ATTITUDE, THE GETTY ADDRESS, as well
as —
perhaps even mostly — new, still-unrecorded material.
THE NEW ATTITUDE EP finds Longstreth working within the
same sonic
palette as THE GETTY ADDRESS. It is dominated by the sound of
chiming
microtonal guitars, sub-bass dragon breaths, a sextet of cellos
and
double-basses — and most of all by Longstreth's singing,
which has
never been either so varied or so wonderfully weird. For a complete

THE NEW ATTITUDE EP is, for a limited time, a
VINYL-ONLY release.
However, a CD of NEW ATTITUDE will be available for purchase at
shows.
