Quickflick
World advances cultural tolerance and understanding
by inspiring and debuting the best global filmmaking talent. Each
month in London, Berlin, Barcelona, Mumbai, Beijing, Tokyo, São
Paulo, Buenos Aires, Mexico City.... and New York, we throw simultaneous
screening parties where young film and video makers share their
latest creations, based around a common global theme they've collectively
chosen.
Since 2003, we’ve hosted nearly 200 screenings attracting
15,000 guests and have inspired the creation of nearly 1000 Quickflicks
which may otherwise have stayed in the minds of their creators.
Each month, we announce a theme that our global community select,
and then filmmakers have less than a month to create a >180
sec digital masterpiece relating to that theme. We screen everything
submitted locally and then a month later, a Showcase of the most
inspirational Quickflicks gathered from around the globe.
QuickFlick World New York invites you to an evening of these creations,
gathering for your delight from some of the most inspirational
Quickflicks that our filmmakers produced in 2006. Set in the stunning
wrap-around-screening room at MonkeyTown (which also offers a
fabulous menu for dinner), this is an evening you'll savor - and
which will end with us announcing April's global theme - an invitation
to join our movement with your own creative genius.
