{R}ake is a performance series of alternative and collaborative
electro-acoustic music and video. Performances range from pure
improvisation to more structured pieces, with video-artists and
musicians integrating their mediums in exploratory ways.
The July show features diversity among its performers. Providing
live-video, there's Josh Goldberg's fine, mixed
esthetic of art-meets-club; Madeleine Gallagher's
representational approach of organically managed real-world images;
and Richard Garet's software-generated abstractions.
Creating dynamic, open musical landscapes are Hans Tammen's
prepared-guitar and table of odd electronics and toys; Andrea
Parkins'/Matthew Ostrowski's body-oriented gestural controllers
and digi-electro-acoustic setup (possibley featuring Andrea's
accordian); and WvS's laptops.
