A video triptych composed of digital video, B&W and Super
8 film,
Selfish
Me literally envelops the viewer with three different,
simultaneous perspectives of each scene. Eery and beautiful, Selfish
Me traces the dark undercurrent of the lives of two newlyweds,
exploring themes of consumption, fetish, love, and death.
Cinematographer Miguel Drake McLaughlin's stunning shots of Brooklyn,
Stony Point, NY, and Pittsfield, MA are complimented with a live
musical score and original soundtrack contributed by members of
Hula
and Dirty Churches, making "Selfish Me" equally as compelling
aurally
as visually.
Approximate length: 30 minutes. Also starring Arielle
Falk.
