Colin Stetson Solo + The Black Sounds

Colin Stetson is a friend of ours. Since relocating
to our Brooklyn shoals, he has toured with Antibalas,
he recently performed solo at The Stone, and
he has been and is a master of the iternerant gig and recording
session. Previously, he recorded on a couple of Tom
Waits' albums. And he's also performed with Sinead
O'Connor, Burning Spear and Medeski, Martin, and Wood and
Anthony Braxton.
He also has a solo joint coming out this May.
The Black Sounds consists of
three members and one of them described it like this:
"It's me on cello + effects, a percussionist
playing found instruments (Redhook trash) and a vocalist with
effects, that also plays clarinet, bass, and guitar. So far
we've been sad, in a dirty painful xiu-xiu-ie way more than
a indie radiohead-ie belle and sebastion, emo way."
In the next sentence he tried to apologize for not making sense,
but we know just what he means.
