We are huge suckers for this event. We love the fakery, the glory,
the pageantry, the earnest speeches, and the meta-mindf*ck of
it all. And we weep when someone genuine makes a genuine speech.
And we know very quickly who the robots and Scientologists are
and that makes us weep in a different way (for ourselves, for
the state of cinema, for shame).
