Yuganaut is a feast for the ears and eyes. Consisting of Stephen Rush on Rhodes/Moog/Trombone/Toys, Tom Abbs on Bass/Tuba and Geoff Mann on Drums/Cornet/Mandolin, Yuganaut rides the balance between improvisation and composition, paying homage as much to Ornette Coleman and Sun Ra as to Western Chamber Music and Indian Ragas. On this last show of a Northeast tour, the band will present their music for Harry Hoyt's 1925 film, The Lost World, based on the short story by A. Conan Doyle. This film was a precursor to the style and theme used later by Hoyt in King Kong, both futuristic and prehistoric. Other short films made and accompanied by the band will preceed and follow the film.

"I am intrigued by the attempt - successful I might add - to marry a largely acoustic free-jazz tradition with the kind of currents found in more contemporary streams of 'musica electronica'. This is truly pioneering music, which through a rhythmically pioneering spirit, catapults us to the very frontiers of 21st century creative innovation."  - John Stevenson/eJazz
